Summer Beauty

Summer Skincare (And My Hero Products)

I’m slowly going to make my way through a number of post requests I received the other day on Instagram (which was so fun and helpful by the way to hear what you’re interested in! So keep sending suggestions anytime!)–and one of the popular ones was beauty and skincare so I thought I’d share a few summer product heroes.  Two of the clean / non-tonic skincare lines that I always come back to (and have been pretty much all I’ve been exclusively using this summer) are: Tata Harper and True Botanicals.  I love everything I’ve ever tried from these lines after switching over to them when I was pregnant and I just keep coming back to them again after trying out anything new.  You know I like to keep things super simple when it comes to my skincare routine, and beauty products in general, so this summer has looked like this:

Step 1.  Cleanse AM / PM:  Tata Harper  |  If I wore makeup or sunscreen that day I’ll double cleanse (i.e.: first remove makeup with an oil), if I went without anything on my face that day–I’ll just wash my face with this Tata Harper scrub.  I love that it’s a micro scrub so it’s gentle to use everyday.

Step 2.  SK-II Essence  |  Pat on, I find that it helps my serum absorb best.

Step 3.  Serum  | For the past few weeks I’ve been testing out Vintner’s Daughter after hearing such good things and am LOVING it.  Super rich face serum so it’s all you really need as far as moisturizing goes especially in these summer months.  (But if you are looking for an amazing summer illuminating moisturizer this one from Tata Harper is my absolute fave!  Gives a subtle glow–almost makes me feel like I don’t even need any coverage or makeup because the glow it gives it so naturally dewy pretty.)  Before trying Vintner’s I was using Dr. Barbara Sturm Anti-Aging Serum which was given to me and I didn’t realize how expensive it was until just now while typing this post but I would 100% re-buy.  I definitely noticed a difference in my fine lines / skin spots / acne scars–everything just glowed and I could always tell on the days I forgot to use it.

Step 4.  SPF  |  Slather on that spf if going outside / it’s daytime, otherwise obviously skip this step at night.  This summer I’ve been loving Supergoop for my face.
