When I lived in Northbeach a walk down Grant Street through Chinatown was almost an everyday experience. I usually kept my head down while power walking as fast as I could to escape the crowds and fragrant aromas. It wasn’t until recently that I’ve come to appreciate this cultural neighborhood for it’s vibrant colors, thrifty shops, fresh fruits and the complete experience it offers. Chinatown has a charm unique in itself; I’m glad I finally ‘slowed down’ to see it.
