Mood | Summer in the City

We officially hit 100* this week (I’m not quite ready for this heat!)…

I pulled all of my summer pieces out… actually to assess what I want to pack for our trip to Mexico next week… and this sent me down a rabbit hole of a try on sesh that I found so helpful!! It’s always a good idea to try everything on again at the beginning of the season and try styling pieces a few ways / remember what you have and what might need altering etc. etc.

After honing in on what I’m wanting to wear at the moment… I realized I’m craving that minimal city vibe. Those summer staples that I can wear on repeat and restyle.

Currently Wanting to Wear

Dressier longer shorts (a linen pair I like)

Cotton / Poplin tops (I just bought this one ~ love the more cropped silhouette with shorts, skirts and denim)

Easy dresses (in linen, I like this striped one and flowy breezy styles too).

Simple mules with denim (on my wishlist and in black)

The Sezane shirt dress I’ve been living in. I’ve actually worn it three times this week. (Another black option, and this black linen one would be great too).

With my A.Emery sandals that have been my go-to this season (black would be another great staple). And since I’ve had a lot of questions about these sandals ~ I took my true size … if you’re in-between I would size up. They break-in nicely / I think they’re good for city walking. They’re a sturdier flat sandal … more if you’re wanting a chic / elevated simple sandal option.

And a woven bag I’ve owned for a couple years now.

More of my summer in the city finds and mood… on my Substack here!
