#NYFW Fall 2014

Ah, it felt good to be back in New York. The energy–especially revolving around fashion week–just can’t be beat. During the past visits that I’ve been back to New York since our move, I’ve been pleasantly surprised with how quickly I adjust into my NYC groove. This city sure puts me on a high. I was even joking around with a few girlfriends, mentioning that I think I now know what speed dating would be like because as usual, I tried to fit in one too many coffee dates, meetings etc. With that said, I’m exhausted and literally holding my eyelids open as I type this on my flight back home.

This trip I selfishly asked my girlfriend Christine if I could crash at her place (on my old street) so I could have optimal time catching up with her while hanging in my old hood and visiting all of my haunts. I made sure to pop into my favorite boutique, grabbed a cup of coffee at Prodigy (where my cactus lives) and enjoyed delicious meals (Buvette, Spasso, Murray’s Cheese + Cafe Gitane were all musts). I even visited my old corner store because those are the comforting things you really miss when you move to a new city.

Of course, I never capture as many moments as I would have liked, but I did a much better job lugging my camera around this spring than I did this past fall. Oh and a few additional un-fashion-related highlights that aren’t pictured here but worthy of note: mistaking Brooke Shields for my girlfriend Chris which led to chatting with her for a good 10 mins (only in New York right?), a dinner with girlfriends at the Mermaid Inn (order the fish tacos!) turned into a spontaneous night of dancing at the Bowery Electric, and a snowy evening spent catching up with girlfriends over take-out pizza and wine. The best.

It really was such a fun trip and I’m so thankful to a) have amazing girlfriends on both coasts and b) thankful to get to attend so many lovely shows. Speaking of the shows, have you peeked at any of the collections? What’s been your favorite?
