I almost titled this post “put a pearl on it,” because this double pearl necklace (seen here) really was the starting point of this look. The white denim went on next followed by a colorful tornado and pile up of sweaters / blouses before I walked out the door like this. After trying to make a few other jackets work that have been hanging in my closest untouched, I grabbed for one of my trusty blazers. Whether I have a meeting, a date with my guy, or just want to feel polished, this smoking tux blazer consistently does the trick. It elevates any look in a non-stuffy way, and I always feel completely “me” when I slip it on. In fact, it’s such a key investment piece in my closet that I’ve now talked my sister (who recently landed a killer new job–so proud of her!) and a couple of styling clients into purchasing it as well.
