November! November? Seriously, how is it even possible. Now that the temperatures are starting to cool down here in California I’ve been getting even more excited about indulging in all of the fall and holiday things. This past month I indulged in apple everything up in Apple Hill. Made weekly batches of homemade apple sauce (a Rex favorite), filled our house with pretty dried floral bundles (an easy DIY I shared!), and have been looking for any and every excuse to gather my friends.
I couldn’t have kicked off November on a more perfect note. Tis the gathering and feasting season so what better way to kick off the first few days of the month than on a farm? This week I’ve been in my hometown, Chico, harvesting rice and spending time on the Lundberg Family Farm. Learning more about where our food comes from and the thoughtful farming behind it is something I’ve become very interested in.
5 Things I’m especially looking forward to this November…
1. A fall picnic with the fam.
2. Celebrating my Dad’s birthday in our hometown with my sister and her fiancé.
3. The chance to wear all of my cozy fall layers.
4. Hosting Thanksgiving this year! Last year I had a baby on Thanksgiving so I’m looking forward to a) not giving birth on Turkey day… b) cooking and hanging with my fam
5. Rex’s 1 year birthday!
The coziest fleece jacket from Back Country. It’s the perfect warm yet lightweight layer for any outdoorsy activities. This is also the time of year I start to pull out my puffers–I like to layer the thin puffer coats under a larger jacket for extra warmth. A trick I learned while living on the East Coast. Also love these for those cozy weekend layers…
How cute is this guy? Love him in this mustard color rancher jacket. Also love this style for the dudes. Can you tell this is my favorite color this season?
