This past week I styled 5 looks all revolving around one pair of pants (worn here) in partnership with LOFT. It’s funny, the day I stopped working at a finance firm (back when I was living in SF) was the day I swore I would never wear trousers again, but lately I’ve been feeling the menswear inspired, office-chic looks. Maybe it has to do with the fact that I’ve been working in an office again and want to dress the part. Maybe it’s me getting older? Either way this ended up being the perfect challenge.
LOFT polled 10,000 women from coast to coast asking them what they look for when pant shopping. I found it so interesting, although completely agree, that most women hate pant shopping and even compared trying on trousers to swimsuits! LOFT used the research they found to redesign their fall collection recreating various fits, lengths (they have petites for shorties like me!), and even their denim. I chose this longer, looser fitting pant and opted to wear it extra long with pointy pumps for a more modern take on trousers.
Since most days I have plans and events right after work, I wanted to show the versatility of these pants. I paired them with an oversized blazer (Stella McCartney—borrowed from my girlfriend, she’s going to have a hard time getting this one back!), a go-to tee (for an office-cool-not-trying-too-hard-look), simple jewelry, and a chic tote. For the evening, I transitioned my look into cocktail-mode by throwing on extra bling, a dark lip, and swapping my bag for a cheetah-print clutch.
